Like a house, the foundation is critical. On a boat, the hull and keel need to be in great shape.
So we started our renovation of High Spirits at the bottom, stripping the paint down to the
gelcoat; grinding the old paint off the keel.
Next step is to put on a special rust preventative on the iron keel and then 8 coats of paint on the hull. We are putting on special barrier coat paint and a hard top coat paint formulated for
salt water.
