Well, today we left Fairport, NY on a very hot day and motored down to Lyons, NY with Nick and Sue Buehler. We went through 5 locks. Joy, Nick and Sue took turns holding on to the ropes that keep the boats close to the lock walls and we dropped anywhere between 12 to 20 feet in each lock. Tonight we went to a big band concert in Lyons, NY but it is still very hot here in the boat, 87 degrees at 9:30 pm. Oh for the wonders of AC.
We had a good time with them in Fairport, did a lot of window shopping and getting food to supply our trip. Plus several excellent games of Pitch. Think the ladies won most of the matches.
Nick and Sue will be leaving us tomorrow at Baldwinsville, renting a car to drive back to Fairport to retrieve their vehicle and then drive back to Webster Lake.
One of the complaints that I have received about the blog is the lack of pictures of the interior of High Spirits, so I present these pictures. We have Nick sitting at the navigator's table, Joy in the galley, Sue in the salon, a picture of the V Berth in the forward cabin, and our bedroom in the aft cabin. The interior of High Spirits is done in teak and the floor is teak and holly.
