Last Night in Brewerton

Well tonight is our last night in Brewerton, will have been here 5 nights.

They finished up all the work on the boat, except that we have not seen our bill yet. Finally figured out where the coolant leak was coming from, broken exhaust manifold bolt. Craig replaced the drain plug, new head gaskets and new bolts. Should be all set to go. No leaks can be seen. Real test will be about a week from now if we have to add any antifreeze by then.

So tomorrow we head east, moving toward the Hudson River

Two new boats arrived from the East today. Jim and Mary on a 34 foot Carver power boat, and Rich and Laura Lee on a 45 ft Irwin sail boat. They have been doing the Great Loop circuit starting in Ohio and Michigan, through Chicago, down the rivers to Gulf, over to the Florida Keys and up the eastern coast. Jim and Mary are from Macedonia, Ohio and Rich and Laura Lee are from Port Huron, Michigan. They had lots of advice for us heading east and we gave them some tips about places we had been through on the west end of the Erie Canal.

Jim and Mary had a budget for the trip but it got blown up because she thought they would anchor out half of the time, like Joy thought, but their boat really is not set up for anchoring. Not enough battery power to run all their stuff, like
AIR CONDITIONING. Not a problem for us as we do not have it.

It is 9 pm and we are just getting around to eating dinner, left overs from last nights trip to a restaurant. We usually take home food for the next day. That helps justify the cost of eating out.

That is it for now. Will take some pictures tomorrow.

Joe
